FLAG PROJECT
curated by William Cordova
Chance by Arturo E. Mosquera

Bridge Bed and under the bridge art space present, Chance, by Arturo E. Mosquera, as part of the ongoing FLAG PROJECT. Flags no matter how abstarct, colorful, formal or geometric often conjure up memories, prompt emotional reactions, provoke dialogue or at least a mediation of temporal spatial awareness to landscape, nationality, culture, past, and presence. Abstract and geometric art is no different as it uses the same visual tools as flag designs because both are rooted in optically poetic interpretations of concepts relating both the external and internal world(s). Both rely on encoding and condensing information into points, lines, solids, surfaces, higher dimensional analogs and color hues.

Arturo E. Mosquera, brings a personalized interpretation to the flag. Mosquera utilized the flag as a tool to mediate on the tenets of geometry and its relationship to radical fractals. Sampling images and improvising word fragments with fluid velocity and in the process generating new fluid platforms.

The opening reception for the exhibition was on Sunday, April 7th from 4-6 pm, whilst the exhibition ran April 7th-May 19th, 2024.
